Below are a selection of projects completed;.

Project Financial Reconciliation

Undertake the financial management of an existing installation and commissioning project. Provide a detailed analysis and breakdown of expenditure to date including all material and staff costs. Negotiate with the client the recovery of unclaimed expenditure, returning over $700,000 of outstanding fees over a four month period. 10/07 - 02/08

New Product Development

Lead the new product development for the engineering services associated with a new modular accommodation product. Develop designs and proposals for the structural support, mechanical and electrical services. Draw on company resources to bring the services portfolio to market for assembly, installation or full turnkey project proposals. 03/07 - 08/08

Delivery of new product variant

Delivery of two new variant HP servers for VPN Service Execution Platforms based on CAMEL specification into the Network, for corporate customer’s value added service provision. 11/04-03/05

Manage cutover and migration to new service

Assistance with migration of PAYT IN platforms from 2G to 3G services installation of 8 new HP service execution points, including the cutover and removal of traffic from 64 existing prepayment control manager platforms and physical removal of end of life equipment from the network. 02/05-07/05

Interim Management of new software release

Interim management of the delivery of new software release and hardware upgrade for Nortel GGSN. The project is a ‘Verification Offer’ of pre customer release software providing final testing in a live environment prior to channel release. Verification and testing of software in both lab and ‘live’ network conditions to both UK and Global Vodafone standards. Project completed by national rollout to all Nortel GGSNs. 04/05-12/05

Manage change program and stakeholder approval

Upgrade of strategic core data network comprising update of Cisco routers to bring network back into vendor support and installation of diverse fibre routes for network resilience. Works impact over 160 access routers and over 1000 systems and applications. Project requires the management of stakeholders from IT, Customer Care, Retail, Regional Operations and Technology to ensure operational continuity. 11/05-03/06

Manage introduction of new technology platform.

Installation of SigTran (SS7 over IP) signalling gateways and associated upgrades to HLR, MSC and Relay Nodes to enable the removal of legacy switching and the move to an all IP switching network using MPLS core backbone. Works completed in three phases;

1 – Upgrades to existing hardware,

2 - Installation of new gateways and migration of legacy systems

3 – refresh of Messaging delivery systems to an all SigTran architecture. 03/06-05/07

Mobile Coverage to Newcastle Metro System

Marconi undertook the negotiation, feasibility, design and construct of the mobile radio system to the underground parts of the Newcastle Metro. Marconi surveyed, designed and installed an shared antenna system which enabled the four UK operators to extend coverage to all underground tunnels and stations. We undertook negotiation with the mobile operators for rental on behalf of the operator. Work with the operators to build the safety case for access to the tunnels during night maintenance periods. Develop solutions for antenna fixing to steel and concrete linings.
The system includes for the possible future connection of a GSM-R or TETRA system for the operator.

Mobile Coverage to Rail Tunnels and Cuttings

Ultramast was established in December 2000 to construct, operate and market telecommunications masts for use by mobile and fixed wireless network operations. I managed a team at Marconi as the preferred supplier to Ultramast we undertook site survey, feasibility, structural design and radio design for sites along side the UK Rail network this included the radio design and construction for the 400 UK tunnels and cuttings including the Severn tunnel at 4 miles long. Working with the four mobile operators to agree a cooperative solution for shared access.Proposals included provision of site transmission run along side the track using Railtrack's infrastructure.Works include the preparation of the safety case for access to Railtrack land and proposals for separation of assets.

OH & S inspection and reporting project

Consultant Principle Contractor Coordinator - term commission to provide advice, assistance and resources to orange personal communications services to enable their compliance with the CDM regulations as principle contractor. Sites to be inspected over the whole of the UK with teams based within the clients’ offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Duties including site inspection and survey, formulation of health and safety plans and method statements, collation of information for inclusion within the health and safety file. Liaison with contractors, planning supervisor and client.

Engineering Design Management

Orange New Site Rollout Programme – Electrical and Structural design for mobile communication aerial transceiver base stations and base station controllers. From feasibility study to drawings tender specification and the finished project. Duties including structural and electrical design compliance with the cdm regulations as lead designer, statutory authority liaison, planning and building regulations approval.

Residential Design Consultancy

7 The Little Boltons - Electrical consultancy services to a six story private dwelling in London. Providing advice, including design audit, to the client to ensure the most expedient and cost effective construction.

Sunlight Wharf

Building services shell and core design and construct of a head quarters for The Swiss Banking Corporation. Location City of London.[Contract value £2,000,000]

Langham Hotel

Multi service, building services, design for the Hilton group of a five star hotel in central London. Structure to incorporate new and refurbishment of listed sections. [Contract value £7,000,000]

Bankers Automated Clearing Centre

Multi service, building services, construct only of a computer centre for B.A.C.S. the high street banks clearing centre. Continuity of supplies of paramount importance. Location Dunstable, Bedfordshire. [Contract value £1,200,000]

Lanesborough Hotel

Multi service, building services, design and construct for the American hotelier Rosewood Group. Five star plus hotel on Hyde Park. Corner, London. Refurbishment of the grade two listed St. George’s Hospital building. [Contract value £13,000,000]

The Jubilee Line Extension

Multi service, building services, design / detailed tender for seven stations and tunnel services for this extension of London’s underground rail network. Particular attention paid to the life and safety systems, i.e. fire, smoke and heat detection and escape lighting, etc.

Southampton Deep Sea Oceanography Centre

Multi service, building services, construct only of a laboratory, research and study centre for the National Environmental Research Council and The University of Southampton on Southampton’s dock side. Works included lecture theatre, laboratories, workshops and research fleet maintenance facility. [Contract value £12,000,000]

C.A.A. - New En Route Centre

Electrical construct only of an air traffic routing control centre for the Civil Aviation Authority at Swanwick, outside Southampton. [Contract value £8,000,000]

Multi service, building services, construct only speculative six story prestige office / head quarters in central London. Suitable for multiple tenant lease. Three penthouse apartments at roof level. [Contract value £5,000,000]

49 and 100 Leadenhall Street

49 and 100 Leadenhall Street Multi service, building services, fast track fit out of office block for Lloyds Register of Shipping in the City of London. [Contract value £2,500,000]

Drummond Gate Complex

Multi service, building services, fast track fit out and refurbishment of three office blocks for the relocation of the Central Office of Information to Pimlico, London. [Contract value £3,900,000]
